Heavy Vehicle Braking Training
2 May 9am to 5pm VACC House 650 Victoria Street North Melbourne
The training is conducted by Dr Peter Hart, heavy vehicle braking expert and forensic engineer. Participants will receive detailed information about heavy vehicle braking and how to use the new Beta version of the ARTSA-i brake calculator which is free to use for accredited users that complete the training. All attendees must bring a laptop that links to the classroom Wifi.
Who should participate?
OEM personnel, vehicle technicians, engineers such as Accredited Vehicle Examiners (AVEs), and regulators. The training will be of great benefit to industry personnel involved in maintaining, developing and regulating heavy vehicle braking systems.

The training is conducted by Dr Peter Hart, certification agent, forensic engineer, braking expert and former AVE. Participants will receive detailed information about heavy vehicle modifications for heavy trucks and trailers.

OEM personnel, vehicle technicians, engineers such as Accredited Vehicle Examiners (AVEs), and regulators. The training will be of great benefit to industry personnel involved in modifications and the provision of replacement parts.

Australian regulatory framework for heavy vehicle standards.
What is a modification, what is a repair, what is maintenance?
Who can approve a modification?
Vehicle Standards Bulletins, Manufacturer’s Guides and Plant Equipment Codes
Good engineering principles to be applied.
Chassis strength design considerations
Ten important points.
